Accommodation Terms and Conditions

This Terms and Conditions Policy governs the contractual relationship between Douro Brothers and its guests. By confirming the reservation, the guest declares to know and accept, in full, the rules established herein.

I. Reservation and Payment Process

1. The reservation is considered effective upon confirmation issued by Douro Brothers and compliance with the payment terms agreed at the time of booking.

2. Full payment must be processed in accordance with the stipulated conditions. Failure to meet payment deadlines gives Douro Brothers the right to cancel the reservation without prior notice.

II. Cancellation Policy

1. Cancellation 30 or more days prior to check-in: The guest will be entitled to a full refund of the amount paid for the reservation (less only the non-refundable financial transaction fee).

2. Cancellation less than 30 days prior to check-in: The guest will be entitled to a 50% refund of the total reservation amount OR, alternatively, to change the dates of the stay (subject to availability). If the date change is for a period with higher rates, the corresponding price adjustment will be made, and the guest must pay the difference.

3. Note on Transaction Fees: In the event of a reservation cancellation, regardless of the reason or the advance notice period, the 5% processing fee (corresponding to financial transaction costs) is non-refundable under any circumstances, as this amount is retained by the payment processing entity at the time of the original transaction.

III. Rules of Stay and Use of Facilities

1. Check-in and Check-out: Check-in is from 3:00 PM onwards, independently. Check-out must be completed by 12:00 PM.

2. Maximum Capacity: Occupancy of the accommodations is strictly limited to the number of registered guests. The admission of additional guests requires express authorization from Douro Brothers.

3. Property Management: The guest assumes responsibility for the safekeeping and conservation of the property. Any damage caused to the property, furniture, or equipment will be charged to the guest, with the cost of restoration or replacement being charged directly.

4. Special Facilities: The use of the heated pool (available seasonally from April to October) and the electric vehicle charger is governed by safety and common sense rules. The use of these facilities is the sole responsibility of the user.

5. Pets: Douro Brothers is a pet-friendly accommodation. Your pets are welcome at Casa Maria and Casa José. Please inform us of their presence at the time of booking and ensure that they respect hygiene and good behavior standards. The owners are responsible for any damage that may occur.

IV. Conduct and Responsibility

1. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the accommodations.

2. Douro Brothers declines any responsibility for incidents resulting from the misuse of facilities or for the loss of valuables left on the properties.

3. Douro Brothers reserves the right to terminate the stay, without refund, in the event of serious breach of conduct rules, lack of respect for silence, or disturbance of public order.
